Obituary For Cindy Edwards
Cynthia “Cindy” Gail Edwards, 70, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, died from pancreatic cancer on July 25, 2021. Cindy was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on March 10, 1951, to Ray & LaVerne Edwards. Her childhood was spent having the greatest of times with her sister, Debbie.
Cindy attended Lillington High School where she was the head cheerleader and an outgoing, fun-loving student. She went on to attend Peace College after which she worked for the Secretary of Labor as Lead Assistant. Cindy was fun, interesting, caring, and full of life. She loved people, from all walks of life. Most of all she was a strong Christian who truly loved Jesus, boldly sharing her faith with many along the way. Throughout her years she owned a jewelry store and became a real estate agent. Cindy made MANY lifelong friends as she didn’t see people as “just her clients.”
One of Cindy’s greatest loves was the beach! Cindy and Debbie were able to spend several months at the beach during the pandemic. It was a blessing to have that time. As Cindy sought treatment, a lifelong friend, Teresa Freeman, opened her home to Cindy and her family. Teresa was a blessing during this difficult time. Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude for all the love, care, and compassion she showed over the last ten months.
Cindy is survived by her sister, Debbie Watkins and brother, Sandy Edwards (Leanne); and her nieces and nephews, Mark Watkins, Denise Funderburk (Ritch), Ansley and Beck Edwards, and great-nephews Noah and Cayden Funderburk whom she adored. Additionally, she is survived by her partner, Jim Adams, who continually stood by her side and faithfully loved her during her battle with cancer. The family wishes to express their appreciation for all the love and devotion Jim showered over Cindy.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Labrador, Charlotte, who was her companion for over 13 years.
A Visitation will be held at 10:00am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Bay Leaf Baptist Church, 12200 Bayleaf Church Rd, Raleigh, NC 27614 . The Burial will be held immediately following the service at Montlawn Memorial Park.

My prayers and sympathy go out to Cindy's family and friends. I knew her through another of her close friends and the 3 of us spent the weekend together in Nashville. and had a wonderful time. She was fun, and a sweet, gentle soul.

Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me--not in her. And, just at the moment when someone says, 'There, she is gone,' there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, 'Here she comes!' Cindy and I shared an apartment in the early 70's. We lost touch through the years but reconnected a few years ago. My heart is broken for her family and friends she leaves behind. Cindy was a kindhearted generous person with an awesome personality. My deepest condolences on your loss. May she Rest In Peace. My thoughts and prayers for her family.

I knew her as a teenager and later in her life. She contacted me because her mother wanted to talk with me. Those last four or five years with both of them, catching up and getting reacquainted was a high point of for me! They were good friends and I know they are enjoying being reunited in heaven!
