Obituary For Christopher Matthew Hoffman

Christopher Matthew Hoffman, 36, passed away in his home on July 13th, 2015.

He is survived by his son, Caleb; his wife, Danielle and her daughter Grace; his parents Richard and Deborah; and his brothers, Adam (wife, Krystal), Nathan, and Kyle (wife, Jennifer).

Those of us that knew Chris, know that he lived a life full of family and friends. Some of his greatest joys came from spending time with those closest to him, and we were all fortunate to enjoy his smile and his laughter. There was an infectious nature to Chris that didn't just draw you to him, it sucked you right in, and good times were sure to follow.

While we got to enjoy the laughter that he spread in our lives, what brought Chris the most joy was his son, Caleb. Whether going to Carolina Hurricanes games or sitting in the living room building legos, when spending time with Caleb, Chris was at his best. The bond between father and son is special and unique, and it brought out the best of Chris.

While his passing was much too soon, and we all will miss him dearly, we will always remember his smile and his laugh, and the joy he brought to the lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, please touch someone's life like Chris touched yours and donate to: Works of Mercy in Memory of Deacon Bob Madey St. Raphael Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd. 27609

There will be a private funeral service for the family.

My very deepest condolences and prayers go out to you and your whole family in this time of sorrow. He was such a wonderful cousin to be around when I could share my life with him. Once again, I am terribly and awfully sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great person to everyone.

Chris was one who loved his family, work, friends, and anyone who he came in contact with. He had that smile and laugh that when you were around him you wanted to also smile and laugh. I will miss the times we hung out and the lunch time conversations we would have almost every single day. Prayers for his family, son, wife, and everyone else also touched by his early passing. I will see you on the other side one of these days Yoshe and we will have our shop talk and build some amazing coils together. - Jeremy Kimball (PBR)

Rick, Debbie, Adam, Nathan, and Kyle: We just became aware of your heartbreaking loss today (7/18) and are shaken by it. We are sorry beyond words. The loss of a son and brother is nearly unbearable, but we know you will be sustained by faith and each other. We have so many good memories of Chris. Smiling around a mouthful of pizza and springing from the blocks with enthusiasm come readily to mind. We are holding our memories and all of you close to our hearts. Love, Benita and Ron Cole

Having known each other half our lives, there are so many memories that could be shared. I will remember most how much he loved Caleb from the minute he was born though and how happy he was being a dad. I'll think of Chris often and keep your family in my heart.

Chris, I come back to your store and the first thing I do is ask for you. I was shocked to find out you had passed. You were always such a nice guy to hang out with and talk to. I was actually coming back to take you up on that job you offered me. Im sorry I couldn't say goodbye. You will be missed rest easy <3

My prayers and thoughts go out to the Rick and his family. Although I didn't know Chris, his father is a real gentleman and I have enjoyed working with him over the last year. I wish you all comfort during this trying time. May God bless Chris and all of you. Geoff Akiki and family
