Obituary For Christopher George Sepulveda

Christopher passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, March 1, 2021 at the age of 44. He leaves behind his beautiful mom, Patricia C. Altar; his father, Jorge Sepulveda; and his two siblings, brother, John Sepulveda and sister, Jennifer Atchley. Sadly, Christopher was suffering from a severe brain injury that impacted him greatly, although that never negatively influenced his kind and gentle Spirit. Chris’ favorite thing was to read the Bible and discuss CHRIST with anyone who wanted to be positively impacted by the wonderful Word of GOD. He loved going to Church and attending Bible Studies. When he was not at Church or attending Bible Studies, you could often find him at his mom’s home in Cary, fixing it up and making sure everything was spotless for her because he wanted his mom to always have the best things in life. He deeply appreciated his mom because she loved him unconditionally, assisted him loyally, and wanted nothing but the best for him. He also enjoyed having long discussions with his older brother, John, about the meaning of life and current events because he sincerely loved spending time with him and really admired his Christian values on the importance of helping the community when another is facing struggles and challenges. He also spent a significant amount of time "face-timing" his younger endearing sister, Jenny, to make sure that she and her family were doing well. Christopher’s father also meant the world to him, and he cherished the times growing up where his dad was with him playing and teaching him soccer and instilling in him the value of a strong work ethic. He also earnestly loved his brother-in-law, Billy, and sister-in-law, Nan, as if they were always his siblings and they loved him in the same genuine manner as well. Moreover, he had such a jovial nature about him that all three of his nieces: Briella, Angelina, and Gracey, loved to be with their “Uncle Kiki” who had such a child-like sense of humor that they gravitated to him whenever he was in the room. His laugh was infectious and he brought joy and smiles to their faces. He was a true family man at heart and in Spirit.

Being an American of Spanish descent, it was of the highest importance for Christopher to help out the Latino Community with the English and Spanish languages. Given that Christopher’s Spanish heritage was of exceptional importance to him and his family, his brother, John, and father, Jorge, who are both Professional Interpreters, used Chris’ wide spread colloquial understanding of the Spanish language and community in their service to the Spanish-speaking community as well. Accordingly, he would love to translate for our Spanish speaking community during their times of need and ensure that they were treated in the same manner as any other English-speaking individual in our society. His brother will deeply miss understanding the “lingo” and slang words that Chris was very familiar with given his regular assistance and volunteering at the various homeless shelters in Raleigh and Durham. He was such a kind hearted soul that anyone who met Chris would instantly feel his warm and endearing personality. He was and will always be a beautiful child of GOD.

He loved his family deeply and was loved by many but most of all he loved JESUS CHRIST, and as such, those he left behind will profoundly miss him but we take solace in knowing that by His Grace we will one day meet him again in our FATHER’s Home.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 4-6 PM at the Renaissance Funeral Home and Crematory at 7615 Six Forks Road in Raleigh.
