Cheryl Swaim Linn, age 66, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC was peacefully called home to her Savior’s loving arms on January 11, 2023. She was the daughter of Erika Nau Swaim and the late John Henry Swaim. Cheryl was born on October 4, 1956 in Greensboro, NC.

Cheryl attended the public schools of Wake County and was a graduate of Enloe High School. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture from NCSU. She also obtained a RN/Associate Degree in Nursing Education from St. Mary’s School of Nursing.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Swaim; and her brother-in-law the Reverend David C. Brighton.

Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her sisters; Cindy (David) Sykes, Marcia Brighton, Laurie (Richard) Lineberger and her mother Mrs. Erika Nau Swaim. She also leaves behind many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her furry baby Lillie.

Cheryl found great joy in caring for her patients in Newborn and Neonatal Intensive Care unit nurseries in several states. After 32 years of dedicated service in Nursing she retired from WakeMed Raleigh Campus in 2017.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at The Renaissance Funeral Home and Crematory, 7615 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615 at 12:30 pm on January 14, 2023. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm with committal at Raleigh Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Cheryl to the SPCA of Wake County.

The family is especially grateful to the medical team and staff at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh and the entire ProMedica Inpatient Hospice Team that cared for Cheryl during her hospitalization.
