Obituary For Chase William McCord

Chase William McCord, who was also affectionately known to many as "CW" or "CDub" passed due to a vehicle accident on September 13, 2020 in Raleigh, NC. Chase was born on May 5, 1995 in Boca Raton, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward Dennis Quinn (Tatsy) and paternal grandparents, John and Helen McCord. A loving son and brother, Chase is survived by his parents and sister, Chase and Erin Quinn McCord of Raleigh and Molly McCord Parr and husband, Matthew of Birmingham, AL. He will be missed by his grandmother, Jane Porter Quinn (Knutie) and extended family.

Chase attended St. Timothy‘s School from kindergarten through the 8th grade, along with Cardinal Gibbons Gibbons High School. He graduated from East Carolina University in 2018, majoring in Business, with a concentration in Marketing. He was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, Epsilon Phi Chapter, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his brothers, with whom he shared a special bond. Chase began Tae Kwon Do at age 7 with Lee Brothers, and eventually rose to the level of Deputy Black Belt. Chase was a varsity runner in high school and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 334, where he made many cherished friends by whom he will be missed. Chase spent his life building up and supporting those for whom he cared. He enjoyed music, spending time with friends and family, camping and spoiling the family dogs. In 2020 Chase began working in the family product development business, Adapticom Inc., largely taking over day-to-day operations, managing Bitcoin mining operations, administering client Slack, and email accounts, rolling-out workstations, coordinating software and website development, as well as accounting.

He found his greatest joys at music festivals with friends, on the beaches of Destin, FL, surrounded by family and friends, and on the docks of Ocracoke, soaking in the island sunsets.

Sweet Chase, I will miss you more than words can tell. You were such a joy to be around and I'm so fortunate to have so many memories with you. You were a gentleman, a brother, and a legend. I met Chase through my boyfriend Colton and heard so many stories about him before I even met him. Three years ago I met him and fell in love with his unique personality. He truly was one of a kind.He lived life to the fullest and always had the biggest grin on his face. The most honest man I've ever met. And he was so selfless, would always show up with gifts, ask how we were doing everyday even though we lived far away, and he even helped build our websites and didn't want anything in return because he was just happy to help. We traveled all over the country following our favorite band, widespread panic. He loved music so much and would go to everything he could with out any convincing needed. We always knew Chase was the one person that was down for anything. Chase would sing his heart out and there was no one better to dance next to,because he would make you laugh the whole time and make the concert so much more enjoyable as he screamed "woohoo" constantly. He was just over our house last week so happy to meet our new puppy and my sister. I'm so happy I got to dance with you last week and share a perfect night together,We talked about how great sisters are,the future concerts we were going to go to, and how happy you were that we picked you up while everybody else ordered a pizza. We could always count on you to be by our side. Through all these tears of missing you, I can't help but smile at the good times and how happy I was whenever you would just show up out of the blue. You had the biggest heart and will be talked about forever. I will never stop telling the world about you and the epic stories of our Space McCord. I hope you are enjoying all the concerts and cold pbr in heaven. Look down on us and shine on Chase! Can't even think of going to panic shows without you in our pack, but you will be in our hearts forever!!!! Fam not friends
