Obituary For Charles Allan Curle

Charles Allan Curle, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday morning October 20, 2018. He was born December 11, 1948 in Shelbyville, Kentucky, the youngest of three children to Alice Oglesby and Allan Curle. After Allan’s death in February 1949, Alice married Aaron McKeithen in 1956.

Charles graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1966. He attended Ohio State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. After graduation, he began his 45 year career as a Computer Software Programmer and Systems Analyst. Charles also served his country in the Army Reserve for 6 years.

Charles married his college sweetheart, Sharon Lee Smith, on September 27, 1969. They are blessed to have three children; Stacy Lynn (Scott Hayes), Leslyn Denise (David Kim), and Charles Allan Jr (Dana Carr); and nine grandchildren, Shana, Rachel, Abby, Charles Jacob, Maxwell, Grant, Noah, Samuel and Olivia.

Charles loved his family second only to his love for Jesus Christ and because of his love and commitment to Christ, he and Sharon have taught and instilled in each of their children and grandchildren a love for God and His Kingdom. With that same infectious, enthusiastic love he has extended his Kingdom family with brothers and sisters all over the world. His ever-present smile and words of encouragement have touched and inspired the lives of so many. Counselor, mentor, teacher, prayer warrior, coach, intercessor, best friend - are words that describe this great man of God.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; Alice and Aaron McKeithen; sister, Phyllis C Graves and is survived by his sisters; Gwendolyn Y. Curle of Diamond Bar, CA and Martha Francis of Hopkinsville, KY. He is also survived by his parents-in-law; Robert and Lillie Smith; sisters-in-law Stephanie S. Hughley (Raleigh,NC) and Mary Henry Smith (Atlanta,GA); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Ily and I want to express our love and condolences to Sharon Curle and to the wonderful Curle Family. We were shocked and deeply dismayed by the sudden inexplicable passing of your husband and father; a priceless gem of a man and our dear friend, Mr. Charles Curle. It is our opinion he is one of the finest individuals God ever created to grace planet earth. He was a man rooted deeply in his relationship with the Father; a man anchored in great faith tailored by his constant lifestyle of prayer, and the perfect gentleman to everyone, all the while, exemplifying Christ like humility and integrity. We thank our Heavenly Father that He gave us a chance in our lifetimes to mingle; rub shoulders, break bread, and worship together often with Sir Charles. We pray you can all see and sense Charles presence in the faces, the mannerisms, and speech patterns with all those who remain in this dynamic legacy. Then, as we all will face Jesus in the resurrection, we will see Charles again, except, for eternity.

We send our love and prayers to Sharon and all the Curle family. Words are not able to sum up what Charles offered to us over the last 19 years we have known him. Here are some of the blessings he gave us over the years we are going to misshis warm smile, doing his dance on the front row during worship, his words of wisdom, his words of comfort and encouragement that he offered when we needed it the most, his knowledge of the word that he brought into our lives, his powerful prayers, his love for the Lord and Celebration Church, and finally when he Always got to portray God when he was on the platform (we know he loved it). We will miss you Charles but we know you are in Gods glory and loving every minute of it. We look forward to the day we see you again Tom & Tammy Hing

What a powerful man of God was Charles Curle. He was truly a light for us to follow. When I had some physical issues that required a strong prayer warrior, I went to Charles. Like so many other times, the Lord used Charles to show His love for His people. I was healed. Charles left this world a better place - and we all know he is now in the BEST place - with Jesus.

Sharon and Family, My deepest sympathy on the passing of Charles. We shared many fun times while working together at GE Capital in Barrington, IL. Our friendship was strengthened when I discovered that he knew my brother at JFK High School in Cleveland. Charles was a wonderful caring man who was totally devoted to his family. My prayers go out to you. Pierre Priestley
