Obituary For Carolyn McLeod

Mrs. Carolyn McLeod, 72, recently of Raleigh, NC, and previously of Broomfield, CO and Rochester Hills, MI, passed away on November 13, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert Florstedt and Mildred Nicol Florstedt. Carolyn was born on August 29, 1949 in Austin, Texas. She attended public schools in Argentina, Mexico, Taiwan, Maryland and Michigan. She was a graduate of Michigan State University and received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Alan(Lanny) McLeod and three children, Kelly Balint (Jared) of St. Louis, MO, Kristie Anderson (Kirk) of Superior, CO, and Brett McLeod (Carlie) of Raleigh, NC.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her passion for her family was visible in her many acts of love and sacrifice. Her positivity and generosity was an inspiration to all who met her. She spent lots of happy hours with her grandchildren cooking, sewing, and attending sporting events. As avid Spartan fans, she and Lanny rarely missed an opportunity to tailgate at Michigan State home football games with friends. They also enjoyed traveling extensively in the US and abroad.

Grandma will be forever cherished by her grandchildren: Kate, Paige, and Griffin Anderson, Brendan and Sean Balint, and Camden McLeod. Carolyn is also survived by her siblings, Sandra Florstedt (Bill Davidson) of Los Altos Hills, CA, Jim Florstedt (Rosemary)of Lafayette, LA, Barbara McGauvran (Scott) of San Antonio, TX, and Beth Snyder (Bill) of Waynesville, NC. She was also beloved by numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins, and friends.

A family memorial service was held at 1:30pm on November 18, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Raleigh, NC.
