Carolyn Heyl, 93, of Raleigh, passed away, peacefully, at Transitions LifeCare on September 20, 2016. She is lovingly remembered by her four sons, Robert, and his wife Margo, of Houston, TX, Stephen, and his wife, Margaret, of Lebanon, TN, Lawrence and his wife, Pamela, and Daniel and his wife, Sylvia, both of Raleigh, NC, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was married for over 60 years to her husband, Frank, who predeceased her in 2008.

Born in College Point, NY, she worked briefly as a secretary before becoming a stay-at-home mom. After her children were grown she volunteered at several hospitals in Florida and later cared for her husband for multiple years during his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was active in the Raleigh 55+ Club for many years.

Carolyn was a parishioner of Saint Raphael’s Catholic Church.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on September 26, 2016 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609, followed by a reception at the church.
