Obituary For Carol Lynn Dupont

Mrs. Carol Dupont, age 72, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina peacefully passed away on June 21, 2019, after battling COPD for many years. She was born in Washington, DC, on December 18, 1946, daughter of the late Gilbert and Russelea Butts. She was also the wife of the late Rick Dupont.

Carol will always be remembered as a woman who loved people. She was quite literally the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back or even her car, if you needed it. Throughout her life she was enthusiastic about volunteering in community projects like building floats for swim team, creating costumes for community talent shows, carpooling van-fulls of teens, being a school room mom, etc. She had such a welcoming personality and could get along with anyone. Her positive attitude and genuine concern for others caused people to be naturally drawn to her.

Carol loved her family. She treasured her daughters, Heidi, Heather and Holly. She often talked about her brother, Fred and her dear friend, Deb. She expressed a lot of thanks to her close friends, especially Robin and Gaye. In her last days, all she desired was to spend as much time with family and friends as possible. Even when her struggles with COPD became overwhelming, she never had anything negative to say about the people in her life. They brought her true joy.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. Family and friends are welcome to a gathering at Assagios, Carol’s favorite restaurant, after the service.

For the rest of my life. I will remember our friendship and how we came into each other's life when our friendship was needed most. I love the swans in my living room and will think of you every day. Thanks for being my friend and neighbor.

Memories Carol and Pia. Deep sea fishing. Sitting outside on the deck in the hot tub and freezing weather having a glass of wine and snow all around us. Working on the Low float till late into the night. Eating half a million Animal Crackers on our way to visit one of the girls at College. Getting together at night with us 4 girls talking and laughing and having fun and who named ourselves "The 4 Musketeers". Having Thanksgiving dinners at Carol's with a house full of family and friends. Exercising early in the morning. Carol was always there if you needed help with something, anything. Carol was a very warm and giving lady!! Thanks, Carol...I love you!
