Dear Ailene, Karen, Andy, Mike, family, relatives and friends....Our deepest sympathy and condolences for the passing of Carl. Carl was such a gentle and kind man, and a dear friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Gayle, our kids, and I first met Carl, Ailene, and their children in 1965 at New Colony Baptist Church in Billerica, Mass. We became best friends and visited often in each others home....playing bridge and enjoying fellowship. Carl really enjoyed our bridge games, CHOCOLATE PIES AND PEPSIS!! After we all left Mass, I visited with Carl and Ailene in many places from Palo Alto, Calif to NC. Carl was a true Christian with deep moral beliefs which he practiced in life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. GOD BLESS! Paul and Gayle Thompson

My husband and I met Carl and Ailene 54 years ago when we moved to Chelmsford, MA and attended the same church. We later moved to a home in their neighborhood. They became our best friends in the area and over the years we stayed in touch. They were avid bridge players and because our children were younger they came to our house almost every week on Friday or Saturday night for a friendly game. Carl loved chocolate pie and I would make one right before they arrived so it would be warm from the oven. Karen babysat for us and Mike attended kindergarten with our daughter. They were like family to us. Throughout the years and through many moves, the memories of the days and evenings we spent with Carl and Ailene are some of the happiest I have. Five years ago we moved to Cary and were able to visit with them again. Carl was a true friend, funny, smart, hardworking, faithful to the lord, his friends and his family. We will miss him and our thoughts and love are with Ailene, Karen, Andy, Mike and their families. Yates and Gayle Thompson
