Obituary For Beverly Kent Latimer

Beverly Kent Latimer, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 9, 2017. Beverly was born in Atlanta, GA on March 29th, 1942, to the late William and Dorothea Kent and was raised by her father and stepmother, Juliette Kent. On July 19, 1963, she married Philip Newton Latimer with whom she celebrated their 52nd anniversary prior to his death August 20th 2015.

Beverly attended GA State University 1960-1963, worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation drawing blueprints by hand, was a beloved substitute teacher at Millbrook High school 1991-2005 and was a longtime member of the Saint Raphael and Saint Francis of Assisi church choirs. Beverly loved to sing and dance, play bridge, laugh and most importantly spend time with her family, friends and her pets.

She is survived by three children and their families: Collins and Josie Georges, Kent and Kim Tutor, Kelly and Stan Micek, three grandchildren Ashley, Brett and Tyler Micek and her 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

A Funeral Mass and subsequent inurnment will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Mary of the Angels Chapel at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 11401 Leesville Rd., Raleigh NC 27613.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or to www.pawsforlifenc.org .
