Obituary For Betty Gunter Jordan
Betty Gunter Jordan passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10th with her family by her side.
Betty was born on January 3, 1945 in Raleigh to Thomas Max and Marguerite Gunter. She was a classy woman who was always dressed to the nines and a successful business professional with a strong work ethic.. But most of all the legacy that she leaves behind is as a loving mother, caring wife, loyal friend and devoted sister and daughter. She was loved deeply by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Betty is survived by her husband, Larry; daughter, Kelly and husband, Josh; son, Chris; one grandchild, Jordan; sisters, Barbara Kirkland; Holi Hassinger; Mary Ann Sigler and husband, Will; brothers, Tom Gunter and wife, Jeanne; sister in law Glenda Gunter; multiple nieces and nephews and their children; and loyal companion Winnie the pug. She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas Max and Marguerite Gunter; and her brother, John Gunter.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the UNC-Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center (http://unclineberger.org) or ASPCA in her memory. .

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. I did not know her but from her picture she looks like she was a happy, energetic and full of personality person, ...beautiful lady! My condolences on Miss Betty's passing. I was preparing to send an Easter card to she and Larry. Looking up the address, I found this Tribute Wall. She was a colleague and friend as we worked with one another for the firm WFI, Inc. My time on projects outside of North Carolina limited my contact with Betty in recent years...............I've several memories of her and adventures. She was a hell of a lady or as she would phrase it "a ballsy woman" My nickname for her was Dixie. Upon meeting her in May, 2003, she immediately reminded me of Dixie Carter from the television show, "Designing Women"....style, bearing, strength, attitude.........all the while a Southern Lady! My memories? The WFI group outing to Six Flags-Charlotte in June, 2003 with Cingular Wireless where I met her husband, Larry......and she volunteered Larry to ride every rollercoaster they had at the park! "I don't do rides but Larry does....." LOL!! It was the hottest day in memory, so much fun and you could tell during the afternoon how much Larry and Betty were still sweethearts. I also recall our impromptu business trip to Atlanta in September, 2005. This was to participate on a WFI panel before NEXTEL reps pitching a large WFI proposal. We learned from WFI-Reston on a Monday afternoon that we needed to be in Atlanta for the next day! Dixie handled the last minute plans with aplomb 🙂 We flew separately to Atlanta that evening and met up at the airport to rent a car. She was excited to be in Atlanta as her daughter, Kelly, and son-in-law, Josh lived there.....she dropped me at the hotel and went for a quick visit to her daughter's house. She was a thoughtful, positive, empathetic person.

We have fond memories of betty.her kindness to others.seeing her just a month ago how proud she was of her children,how she talked about her grandson jackson and the smile on her face.we will miss you. Love joy & holland

I had the pleasure to meet Betty a few times through working with Larry.....will always remember her really cool haircuts!!!!:blush:.....and her Sparkly eyes!!!! I know she will be missed greatly by family and friends....but let there be comfort in knowing that there is a grand reunion ahead....she is not gone forever .:innocent::bouquet:
