On Saturday, June 3rd, Barbara J. Mittendorf, 80, loving wife and proud mother of two daughters, passed away at her home in the Carolina Arbors community, located in Durham, NC.

Barbara was born and raised in East Liverpool, OH. She was the daughter of the late Harry D. and Lucille M. Staats Nally.

Barbara attended Kent State University where she earned a bachelor's degree in education. Her first job was that of an elementary school teacher in Rockville, MD. After a year, she moved to Virginia for a job with Fairfax County Public Schools where she worked for almost 25 years, teaching grades 4 through 6.

Barbara enjoyed reading, gardening, crafting and playing cards/games with friends.

Barbara is survived by her husband of almost 54 years, William, daughters Elizabeth and Rebecca Mittendorf, sister Carol Ferello and nephew James Ferello, Jr.

A Visitation will be held Friday, June 9th, from 4:00pm to 6:00 pm at the Renaissance Funeral Home located at 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC.
