Obituary For Anthony Charles Day
We mourn the loss of a vibrant and adventurous young man, taken from us too soon in a tragic accident. Anthony Charles Day, 23, of Knightdale, North Carolina, died on July 17th, 2023. He leaves behind his father, William, and twin sister Mary. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra.
Anthony graduated from Heritage High School in Wake Forest, NC in 2018, where he was a member of the track team and the gaming academy. From 2015 to 2018, he participated in the US Navy Sea Cadet Corps. In the short time he was enlisted, he completed recruit training in Fort Indiantown Gap, PA; Police/Master-At-Arms training in Norfolk, VA; and Riverine Ops training in Moneta, VA.
Anthony lived every day to its fullest, and never held back in anything he put his mind to. He had a passion for "itasha" style cars and loved to spend his free time tinkering with his own. His itasha-wrapped 2014 Scion tC was displayed alongside other anime-themed itasha at conventions in several states. He was also an avid airsoft player and online gamer, enjoying the challenge and camaraderie of any competition.
He was a loyal friend, an energetic spirit, and a loving son and brother. His big heart was evident in the way he always treated other people equally, and the best example is the many relationships he had with his co-workers, who he helped in any way he could, both at Cook Out and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. His family is incredibly proud that he rose to the position of Manager at Cook Out at such a young age, and had a very promising future. His generosity also extended to his family, with whom he spent much of his spare time. He always looked forward to the next fishing trip he could take with his father, sister, and friends.
His death leaves a great void in the hearts of those who knew him. We will always remember his infectious laughter and smile, his boundless energy, and his unwavering dedication to always living life on his own terms. Anthony will be deeply missed by all who knew him as a devoted son, brother, and friend. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a memorable impact on the world in his brief time here.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at 10:00am at Renaissance Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service. All events will take place at Renaissance Funeral Home.
