My name is Nancy. I am a private duty caregiver. I have known Mr. and Mrs. Schloemer since they first moved to Springmoor. They were neighbors of the lady I was helping, and we would often pass them in the hallway as they were on their way to and from their apartment.. What a sweet couple! Mrs. Schloemer seemed so gentle and was always friendly. It was obvious that Mr. Schloemer was devoted to her. Four years ago the lady I was (and still am) helping moved to the Clayton Wing, so I didn't see them all that time. Then one day not too long ago there they were sitting at one of the tables in the little Clayton Wing dining room! How delighted I was to see them again! They both recognized me and called me by name. I would stop by their table and say 'Hello" at lunch time after leaving my lady at her table. I could tell Mrs. Schloemer wasn't feeling quite up to par, but she was her same lovely self nonetheless. I think their generation was brought up not to complain a lot - at least as far as good manners go. My mother was like that too. I had missed seeing her in the dining room lately and was so very saddened to learn of her passing. My goodness - 95! That is the age my father lived to as well. What a blessing to have parents for so long! I am so sorry for your loss. I stopped by their room to express my condolences to Mr. Schloemer the next day, but he must have been resting. I will be sure to give him lots of hugs and TLC whenever I see him. Bless his heart! These will be really lonely and difficult days for him. I send this with heartfelt compassion and sympathy for you and your family but in steadfast faith that through Christ we will be reunited with our loved ones again some day. May you hold that comforting thought close during this sad time.

I have so many wonderful memories of growing up on Maurice Street next to your family and your mom plays prominently in those memories. Lots of great times at the pool or at the picnic table on the side of your house; your Mom and mine working in Mamaroneck and Starch Hooper Roper; and shopping together; and many more. I'm so glad that we got to see your mom and dad over the past several years - it was always so comforting and reminded me so much of those days. Your mom lived a long and fulfilled life and raised a beautiful family - children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren! May all your wonderful memories help you get through this difficult time. Love , Debbie and Bob

Ann and Clarence were our beloved neighbors in Norwalk for many years. I was always amazed by Ann's talent to grow flowers and plants in her yard. She generously gave me plants, which I still have growing in my yard. Being a new mother, I leaned on Ann for advice, and was saved a few times by Clarence's handiwork with tools. Once, when my new baby was sleeping, I walked out of the house into the yard, inadvertently locking the door behind me. I went over the Clarence and Ann's house in a panic. Ann calmed me down, and Clarence followed me back to the house with his box of tools. He took the door off it's hinges and then replaced it again, after I was able to get back inside to my baby. Those were the kind of neighbors they were. When Ann and Clarence moved, even though it was one of the saddest days, I never forgot them, or their friendship. Because of them, I try to be the kind of neighbor to others that they were to me. We will never forget you both, and our sympathies, and love go out to you Clarence. Joan, John, Kyle, Rebecca, and Hayley
