Obituary For Andrew John Jablonski
Andrew John Jablonski, born in Buffalo, NY, resident of Apex, NC, died peacefully on April 17, 2025, at the age of 55 at Transitions LifeCare Hospice Home. “Andy” to his parents, brother, sister, and childhood friends, and “AJ” to various colleagues, Andrew was loved by many and will be missed.
Andrew loved his family and friends and cared about other people, and he didn’t hesitate to tell those close to him that he loved them. He seldom met a stranger and was quick with a joke. Andrew was an avid cyclist who rode 93,392 miles since he started keeping track in 2006, and he loved watching the Buffalo Bills and Sabres; going to a different city each year with his son Tommy to see a Bills’ game; grilling on the back deck; listening to live music and sometimes joining the band onstage for an impromptu duet; and, even in recent months when he didn’t feel well, playing in the floor with his first grandchild Peter. A hockey player in his youth in Orchard Park, NY, Andrew said often that hockey was the most beautiful sport. After graduating from Buffalo State University, Andrew started his career working for hospice, and he talked about the impact that this had on him. Andrew went on to have a successful career in healthcare, working for insurance companies, a pharmacy benefit management company, and most recently, CollabriOS Health.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Catherine “Cathy” Jablonski (Apex, NC); his daughter Erin Szurgot, his son-in-law Connor Szurgot, and his grandchildren Peter and Louie (Wake Forest, NC); his son Thomas “Tommy” Jablonski (Apex, NC); his sister Melanie Santillo and her husband Jim Santillo (Hamburg, NY); his brother Christopher Jablonski and his wife Carol Ridley (Rochester, NY); his parents Linda and Thomas Biskup (Orchard Park, NY); and other family members and dear friends.
May memories of Andrew bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
