Alison Marilyn Bower, 78, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on 12 September 2024. Alison was born on 08 June 1946 in Llanelli, Wales to the late Glyn and Marion Richards.

Originally trained as a speech therapist, Alison pursued a career in business. She married Edwin David Bower on 23 August 1973. During their 51 years of marriage, they lived in London, Kent and Bristol in England, and in Illinois, New Jersey and Connecticut in the US. Alison was a successful realtor in Wilton, CT for many years before she and David retired to Raleigh in 2006.

Alison enjoyed travelling throughout the US and Europe, gardening, cooking, classical music, walking her dogs and spending time with family. In her later years, she enjoyed visits to the North Carolina beaches and especially cherished her grandchildren Scarlett and Henry.

She is survived by her devoted husband David; daughter Annabel Bower of Raleigh, NC; son David Mark Bower (Heather) of Wilton, CT, her sister Patricia Glynn-Jones of Bath, England; two grandchildren, and nieces and nephew. She is also survived by a large extended family including David’s children Emma Curry (Jack), Matthew Bower (Katie), Sharon Van Meteren (Paul) and Lee Bower and their families and many friends. She will be remembered for the love, patience and generosity she shared with all of us throughout her life.
