Obituary For Alexandra "Alex" Paige Hart

Our beloved Alexandra (Ally, Alex, Lessie) Paige Hart, 23, died unexpectedly at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

Alex was born to Tim and Jenni Hart on January 27, 2001, and was welcomed by her sister, Laura, and brother, Jack, who loved her dearly. She will forever be loved and remembered by her family and her many friends, comrades, and teachers.

An artist, songwriter, musician, linguist, satirist, cartoonist, and activist, Alex created as a means to spread love and broaden other people’s perspectives. Her interest in history, geography, and all the world’s cultures and languages, was a lifelong passion that she delighted in sharing with others. If the discussion ever grew too heavy, she would disperse the tension with a wacky pun or a dose of her biting—though never cruel—sarcasm. A gifted musician and songwriter, she spent some of her happiest days practicing and performing with her band of besties, FishDad.

Alex was here to teach, advocate, inspire, and entertain, but more than all else, to love.

A Memorial Service will be held November 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Renaissance Funeral Home in Raleigh. Anyone wishing to honor Alex’s memory can donate to Girls Rock NC or Meals for the Masses. Big hugs and love to The Hart family. Alex was always in for a fascinating conversation when she came to visit. We will miss her spirit for life and exploration of anything she found to explore deeply...it was all or nothing!! We send our love from Pennsylvania Auntie C, cousins, Karen and Ed ❤️

Alex always inspired me to create and learn more. She was the first person I wrote music with and we dove through rabbit hole after rabbit hole together. I loved learning from her and learning with her. Getting a glimpse into how she saw the world and the connections she found between seemingly disparate topics has enormously shaped the way I view the world. She inspired me to learn Russian which I went on to pursue in college. I collage the cover of every composition book I own because she did that to her journals. I loved it when Alex would read her journal while Fish Dad jammed behind her. Alex was a true artist and incredible thinker. She loved so fiercely and I will be chasing her laughter for the rest of my life. I love you so vastly Alex.
