Alexander Mitchell, 88, of Raleigh, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley; son, Shaun Mitchell, of Cary; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Jeff Flake of Raleigh; daughter and son-in-law, Dara and Rich Wallen of Southport; and five grandchildren: Sawyer, Grayson, Hope, Sarah and Bella. He is also survived by his sisters, Alice Jude of Raleigh, Gina Lyon of Michigan, and Ruth Mitchell of Winston-Salem, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by their son, Mark Alexander Mitchell. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6pm-8pm at Renaissance Funeral Home located at 7615 Six Forks Road in Raleigh.
