Obituary For Patricia "Patti" Lee Brenton

At the young age of 60, Patricia succumbed to her battle with cancer after three long years. Patricia grew up in Stratford, Connecticut where she attended the Stratford Public School Systems. She later went on to attend and graduate from Quinnipiac University. After she went on to work in Respiratory Therapy in the hospitals of Connecticut. Patti continued her education and received her certification from Bridgeport Hospital as a respiratory therapist. She uprooted her life and decided to take on the Rocky Mountains and settled in Littleton, Colorado. Patti continued her career with several companies in the Denver areas working as a sales manager of multiple specialties and finally landed with a highly successful, 25-year career at GE Healthcare within various roles in the organization before finally finishing as a Strategic Director of National Accounts. Patti was an active member and leader within the South-Central Women’s Network which empowered women in the workplace.

Patricia lived her life to the fullest by traveling to several countries and states while enjoying all things from hiking, running, exploring new cities, listening to music and enjoying a margarita. While in Colorado, Patti spent endless weekends skiing at Keystone. She also enjoyed visiting Red Rocks and listening to outdoor concerts. The highlight of her life was spending time with her two grandchildren, Brynlee and Jack, playing barbies, cars, building sandcastles, teaching them how to swim or simply having a dance party.

Even up until the end, Patricia remained so positive and continued to share her smile throughout her fight. Per Patti fashion, she remained strong and independent.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Kristen Walsh of Raleigh, NC; her parents, Ronald and Bonnie Brenton of Cavendish, VT; brother, Tom Brenton and his family of Cheshire, CT; and sister, Pam Polke and her family of Southbury, CT. She is also survived by her son-in-law, two grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great niece and great nephew and a grand puppy. Patti is also survived by her fiancé, Craig Reynolds of Atlanta, GA.

Dear Patti. She lived across the hall from me in Milwaukee for many years. We were friends...buddies. We had a great floor. Patti was the glue. So glad to have met Kristin and Craig. She was a great Mom and a great partner. One of a kind. Very touching service. Bless you.

Patti may have left us to soon, but her memories will live on in our hearts forever. In time the memories will turn the tears into smiles; smiles as big as her smile was. I had the opportunity to work with Patti, in the past, at GEHC. Her enthusiasm, courage & passion was infectious. Sending heartfelt sympathy, prayers, and peace of heart to the family in the days ahead. May God rest her soul.

I love you and will always cherish my memories with you. -Christina Swain

Kent and I were blessed in having the opportunity to spend time with Patti a couple of years ago when we were exploring North Carolina. She opened her home to us and we so enjoyed her graciousness and generosity, her exuberance for life and her laughter. When we returned less than a year later to make NC our forever home there was Patti still exuding a belief in the goodness of life and an amazing determination despite the new challenge she was facing. Thank you dear Patti for the example and gift of your spirit. - Carol and Kent Nightingale

Patti, I was so blessed to work for you and on your team. You were an inspiration to me as I looked to you as a role model in my career and in my life. I remember the time that you visited my young family in Indianpolis and had dinner. After the night was through, both my kids, Haven and Nolan were calling you aunt Patti. I will truly miss you! With Love, Chris Plummer

I am so grateful for what turned out to be our last conversation just days before you passed. I told you I loved you. I will always love you. You were so optimistic about getting home and setting short term goals. I was looking forward to seeing you in May. No doubt we would have laughed hard and talked for hours. Our time together at GE was formative for me. I hope you know how much you gave to me in developing my professional and personal life. Your optimism was contagious. You fought for what was right. I will do everything I can to carry on your legacy. I miss you. Love, Lesley

Patti's energy and passion for life were infectious. I had the privilege to work with Patti for many years first at GE Healthcare as a colleague and later as a customer. I am deeply saddened that the bright light she brought to many of us was blown out far too soon, but am hopeful that the leadership she always exhibited to mentor and develop others will live on. I had checked in with her a few weeks before she passed away, and even then she was positive and hopeful on the next journey with immunotherapy. My thoughts and prayers are with Kristen, Craig, and the entire Brenton family!

To Patti's family I am very saddened to hear this news. I loved working with Patti for many years at Datex-Ohmeda. She always had a great way of ignoring politics and cutting across boundaries to get things done. She was a blast to travel with in our trips to Finland. I will miss her. Rick Brandl

I worked with Patti many years at GE and she was always such a positive person to talk to about anything. I had the pleasure of knowing her as a friend, not just a GE employee. My heart breaks right now, my sympathy goes to all of her family and friends. She was a great person and will look for her when my time is up to share another laugh with her. Gregg Melby

Patti and I were next door neighbors in Milwaukee. During that time we became very close friends. We had each others back. Together we spent many Friday nights having dinner (margaritas @Corazon)and Saturday mornings, doing yoga(coffee @Colectivo). My favorite times were at the pool. There, we would spend endless hours sipping wine and chatting. During that time I learned what an inspiring and kind person Patti was. Patti you will be missed by many. I love you!

Patti and I worked together a GE. My memories are of an extraordinary human being with a wonderful sense of humor and appetite for life. She will be missed. RIP. Catherine Estrampes

  • April 02, 2021

Patricia's time at GE overlapped mine for over 20 years. Most of the time we were peers/ co-workers. For my last few years at GE I had the pleasure of managing Patricia. It was a great relationship that was both on a business and personal level. Even when Patricia first became ill she powered through it, refusing to go on leave. You would never have known she wasn't feeling well. Positive, happy, talented, family centered all describe her. Patricia, sleep well until we meet again. You will be missed.

  • April 02, 2021

My sincere condolences to Patti's family and loved ones. I had the honor of working for Patti for a few years here at GE. She truly was a light, always so positive, kind and caring. She was a female leader to look up to and emulate! As a manager and co-worker, Patti was invested in the personal friendships she cultivated with everyone she worked with. She was the boss who inspired you to do your best and cheered you on every step of the way. Our GE team was blessed to have her and will miss her dearly. My prayers are with her family, as you celebrate the life of this talented, vibrant woman.

Just last week we talked. You told me how you were back in the hospital. How you were going to fight this. How when you were out, we were going to get together at the beach, dip our toes in the water and drink fruity cocktails. That was so you, my friend. The warm, optimistic, planter of dreams that made us all feel good. I'm so grateful when we ended that conversation we told each other how much we cared for one another. Yet still what I wouldn't give for one more conversation. You will be so missed, Patti. You brought light and happiness to so many. I'm hoping that you're now dipping your toes in warm water and sipping on a delicious cocktail. XO

I had the privilege of working directly with her over the last ~2 years, and she was one of the most caring, intelligent and driven individuals I have ever met! It was 20 years ago when Patti and I worked most closely together, but we had a blast and there was almost always a wonderful smile on her face. She always talked about her daughter as she considered what she might do next and she was very logical about what the sales team would need and what would work for our clients. She always focused on others and brought joy and intelligence to everything she did. I'll miss seeing you every now and then, Patti. Thank you for the fun we shared together - we will ALL miss you! Godspeed to you and your family!

My deepest sympathy to all those she loved and to the family who commanded our tremendous admiration and respect. Peace.
