Laurie was born in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY to the late William David Walker and Georgia Edna Lyons Walker.

Laurie was a caregiver at heart, and this showed in the work she did and the person that she was. She used her talents as a nurse and as a first responder to take care of her community. Her greatest joy was taking care of those she loved, her friends and her neighbors. She also enjoyed sharing her skills at Mojave Community College where she taught nursing classes.

As a devoted member of the Meadview Community Church in Meadview, Arizona Laurie sang in the choir, organized special events, taught Sunday school, and was head of the Women’s Club. She was the longest member of the church and very respected there.

Laurie’s smile will always be remembered. She could make a silly face with the best of them, and her smile lit up the room.

She is preceded in death by her husband Russell Taylor, they were married for 34 years.
