Fadia Kamel Collie was born on March 4, 1953 to Toufic Kamel and Nelly Abou Mrad in Lebanon.

In 1986, Fadia left Lebanon to begin a new chapter of her life in Ontario, Canada. There she lived near her sister, Rosette (Robert) and family. In 1996, Fadia left Canada and came to Raleigh, North Carolina. Here she resided her until her death on September 6, 2021.

After arriving in Raleigh, Fadia met William Collie and they married on August 27, 1999. Fadia and Bill shared a love for antiques. They would often go to auctions on Saturday nights. Fadia loved to help her friends purchase china sets, rugs, guns, anything they may be looking for.

Fadia was an active member in the Triangle Lebanese American Center (TLAC) where she volunteered and participated in many events and celebrations. She had the pleasure of watching many young children grow up. She took great pleasure in visiting with them and seeing them grow into wonderful young adults. Fadia was young at heart and gave life to any celebration.

Fadia’s love for family, especially her nieces, showed in her eyes when she would talk about them. Her parents were blessed with five girls. She is survived by Leila Kamel and Amal Ziade, both from Lebanon and Rosette (Robert) Tabangi of Canada. Fadia is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
