Obituary For Delores Irene Armogida

Delores (Dee) Irene Fitzpatrick Wise Armogida April 19, 1953 - June 17, 2020

Dee was born in Washington, DC to Gerald and Alphia Fitzpatrick. She was raised in Seat Pleasant, Maryland with her six siblings, Patricia (deceased), Mike, Donna, Joe (deceased), Teresa, Anita and Mary. Dee devoted her life to her children, Aaron (wife Amy, son Alex, daughter Alannah), Greg (wife Brittney, sons Dylan and Silas) and Jeff Wise; as well as her husbands, George Wise and Ed Armogida, who both preceded her in death. Her second marriage to Ed gave her a stepson, Nick Armogida, his wife, Candace, and four additional grandchildren.

She moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1997 after the death of her first husband, George Wise. She raised two of her boys, Greg and Jeff here in Raleigh while her oldest son, Aaron, had gone into the Marines. Dee was dedicated to her sons, their growing families, and her church, St. Raphael Catholic Church, where she was involved in a lot of church functions and had numerous friends. Dee enjoyed helping others, this was a true passion of hers. She loved serving at the soup kitchen in Raleigh on Friday mornings. She was the greeter and made many friends who walked through that door to get a meal. She also served on several committees at her church, was a member of the Columbiettes, and on the funeral reception committee in which she set up and helped serve those who lost a loved one. It was while serving at church that she met her second husband, Ed Armogida, and was grateful that God had blessed her with a Godly man. Dee became very close with Ed’s son, Nick and his family and considered them her own family, taking out the “step”. After 4 years of marriage to Ed, he passed away from cancer, but Dee continued her relationship with Nick and Candace and their children.

In 2014, Dee was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer which she fought with determination and bravery. She finally succumbed to it on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 2:40 a.m. She has left behind Aaron and Amy Wise, their two children, Alex and Allanah of New Hampshire; Greg and Brittany Wise and their two children, Dylan and Silas of Raleigh, NC, and Jeff Wise of Raleigh, NC. She has also left behind her siblings: Mike and Sandy Fitzpatrick of Henderson, MD; Donna Fitzpatrick Carter and Paul Carter and their two children, Molly and Joe Wilson of Franklinton, NC and Jake and Summer Carter and their daughter, Everleigh of Youngsville, NC; Joe Fitzpatrick who is deceased but his three girls, Logan Fitzpatrick, Trish Fitzpatrick and Leena Fitzpatrick; Teresa Fitzpatrick Culbertson and Chuck Culbertson of Rolesville, NC and their three girls: Lindsay and Clay and their two children, Connor and Lilly of Hollywood, FL; Samantha Culbertson of Rolesville, NC and Kacey Culbertson of Garner, NC and her two children, Brantley and Audrey of Garner, NC; Anita Fitzpatrick and her two boys, Ryan and Zach of Largo, FL; Mary Fitzpatrick of Largo, FL and her two boys: Wayne Calderwood Bowie, MD and Joel Calderwood (deceased); Nick and Candace Armogida with their four children, Lathan, Jordyn, Cole and Jake of Holly Springs, NC.

Dee also leaves behind several other family members and dear friends who were like family to her. Wherever she was needed she served with a servant's heart. We will surely miss her but rest in knowing that our Father sent His angels to gently take her home.

There will be a Funeral Mass at a later date.

Im very sorry to learn of Dees passing. I met her when she volunteered as an advocate for the Tribunal of the Diocese of Raleigh. She helped many people as they pursued the nullity process.

Dee was an absolute treasure of a human being. Her friendship was one shall I always value and cherish. She was brave, strong, smart and caring. Heaven now has an extra glow and earth is a bit dimmer because such a bright light of life has passed on. I shall miss her.

My sincere sympathies to the Armogidas, Wises and Fiitzpatricks. Dee loved her family and we enjoyed hearing about each and every one of you-- the stories of grandchildren, sister lunches, trips to Florida (and Mike, too), Thursday night dinners- never to be missed, trips to New Hampshire and and the annual lobster dinners, nieces, nephews and weddings! I wish you all well as you transition to life without her physical presence and peace as you carry her in your heart and enjoy your memories. - Elizabeth K & Greg C I've never known a light to shine so bright from within; A soul so pure, strong, sound, devoted and true; A friendship so valuable; a friend so loving and kind; A heart filled with love- it was all you, Dee. Selfishly, I will miss you. - E
